Optimal maintenance of district heating network keeps the renovation costs under control

At present, Maintpartner is responsible for the operation and maintenance of some 2,000 km district heating network ensuring that 900,000 end-users get the heat they have ordered. Maintpartner has district heating operations in Finland and Poland.

The age of the existing district heating networks is mainly counted in decades, which indicates that there is need for renovation.

- It is the same situation in all basic infrastructures, whether we talk about water or heat. The pipes get old and need more maintenance, says Jani Uitti, Network Manager at Maintpartner.

Primarily, Maintpartner takes care of network maintenance, service and repairs, monitors the condition and makes investment and renovation proposals to customers.

- It is important to carry out the repairs in a sensible way and correct order to optimize the customer costs. This is our strong competence area regarding maintenance of district heating networks, says Uitti.

Maintpartner takes care also of the construction of new networks for their customers, including structural engineering, construction work supervision and documenting. In addition, Maintpartner offers specialist services to improve the functionality of the district heating system.

Competent operation and maintenance of power plants secure heat generation

Apart from the district heating network, Maintpartner has the responsibility for operation and maintenance of several district heating plants.

- In addition to basic maintenance we implement investments and renovations and various projects, also turnkey deliveries, says Manager Jari Väyrynen at Maintpartner’s Technical Competence Center.

Maintpartner offering includes also real time remote controlling to improve power plant availability. It is part of the MP INtelligence® service designed for analyzing, optimizing and providing predictive guidance for operation and maintenance. With MP INtelligence we can monitor critical production disturbances and errors in operation.
